If liability insurance has been cancelled on a vehicle, the OMV receives notification, and an official notice is mailed to the vehicle owner. Should the matter not be resolved within 10 days of the notice date, driving and registration privileges will be blocked.

The block, named “No Insurance Block” or “NI Block”, is recorded in the driver’s license and vehicle records and will prevent the issuance and/or renewal of a driver’s license and vehicle registration. The block DOES NOT, however, affect the transfer of the vehicle.

Big Easy’s Abita office has a dedicated team to research NI Blocks, help customers understand and resolve the issues, and then clear the flags.

Please note: At this time, we can clear NI Blocks ONLY. We cannot clear suspensions or revocations. Payment must be in full.
